This creative and engaging package includes the following:

⭐Reader’s Notebook Setup Information: Several pages of information on the benefits of Reader’s Notebooks. Detailed information on how to set up a Reader’s Notebook for the unit is also included. However, you do not need to do this unit as a Reader’s Notebook. It can easily be done as a traditional Novel Study – it is up to you!

⭐Character Analysis Activities: A variety of different graphic organizers and activities are included to help analyze key characters and support answers with text evidence.

⭐Comprehension Questions: Detailed comprehension questions for all chapters. A detailed answer key is also included!

⭐Comprehension Questions Strips: These can be used in addition to or instead of the regular comprehension questions. These are designed to be glue into Reader's Notebooks and help save on paper. These are deep thinking questions with no right or wrong answer, making them ideal for whole class or small group discussion.

⭐Reading Strategy Based Questions: A full set of reading strategy based questions is included. There are pages for each chapter of the novel. These have no correct answer, but allow students to think deeply about the text. Students focus on making connections, visualizing, inferring, determining importance, analyzing, summarizing, evaluating, predicting, and questioning.

⭐Vocabulary Activities: Multiple pages of vocabulary words are included, with pages numbers and space to write in definitions. Two different vocabulary worksheets are also included, to use with words from the novel.

⭐Character Compare and Contrast: Several different Venn diagram style graphic organizers are included, to compare and contrast different characters from the novel.

⭐The Lemonade War Graphic Organizer and Foldable Set: A variety of different graphic organizers and included - many different creative organizers and foldables to practice questioning, making connections, finding key details using text evidence, visualizing, and more! These can be used at any point in the novel, and are great for differentiated instruction, extra practice, or extension activities!

⭐The Lemonade War Written Response Activities: Multiple pages of written response activities are included. Students are given a deep thinking response question, and must respond in written form in the space provided.

⭐Figurative Language in The Lemonade War Activity: A fun activity that asks to students to examine different types of figurative language as seen in the novel.

⭐Business Word Wall Cards: A full set of word wall cards relating to business are included: Product, Location, Price, Business Plan, Promotion, Profit, Start Up Costs, Cost Per Unit. Hang these in your room for students to refer back to throughout the unit, and encourage them to use them in their writing during Writer's Workshop!

⭐Lemonade Stand Simulation Activity: A complete booklet where students plan, setup, and sell make believe lemonade. Students must calculate the cost of a pitcher of lemonade based on a recipe, determine the cost per glass, set a price, choose dates to sell, and calculate their profits. This is a super engaging math tie in where students are required to add, subtract, and multiply money/decimals. This activity can easily be differentiated by supplying calculators to students. This is a really fun activity, and definitely a unit highlight.

⭐Bar Graph Survey: Students must survey the class on their favorite summer drink, make a tally chart, and create a bar graph. All instructions are included - a great math tie in!

⭐Lemonade Recipe Invention: Students use the included graphic organizer to invent and write about their dream lemonade recipe.

⭐Digital EASEL Activities: A digital EASEL version of all of the comprehension questions has been included. Text boxes have been added and teacher pages have been removed to it is ready to use online with your learners.
