Description

US Land Features: United States Land Features Game {Locating Specific Land Forms/Features}

Studying landforms or land features in the United States? This is a fun game that has really helped my kids master the location of 16 famous features.

In this game, students will pull a number. They will then use the included map to locate the number. They will name the feature displayed at that number. If they get it correct, they get to roll the dice and move around the landform/feature themed game board. There is an answer choice board as an option to use during the game if you would like.

This game fits perfectly in a file folder. Included is a cover sheet, game board to staple inside folder, labeled map to be stapled inside, direction, answer key, answer choice board, and game cards.

The land features presented are:

1. Lake Superior

2. Lake Michigan

3. Lake Huron

4. Lake Erie

5. Lake Ontario

6. St. Lawrence River

7. Atlantic Coastal Plain

8. Appalachian Mountains

9. Gulf of Mexico

10. The Great Plains

11. Rocky Mountains

12. Continental Divide

13. Great Basin

14. Death Valley

15. Pacific Ocean

16. Atlantic Ocean

This game would most likely be used once the land features have been presented in class. It is also great for review before a unit test or before standardized testing.

These land features are studied at different grades depending on the state you teach in, but If you are a GA 4th grade teacher, this game works perfectly for the SS curriculum. All of these features are referred to in our studes and are named specifically in the Georgia Performance Standards.
