Valentine's Activity : Valentine's Book Report : Doodle Style Writing Organizer

Happy Valentine's Day! Students will have fun completing this Valentine's Day themed book report- "I LOVED this Book.."

Around Valentine's Day is the perfect time to have the kids share about a book they loved. A lot of times when I do an 'I love' book report, I have the kids do it on a favorite book they read in the near past. I then make a bulletin board of the posters so the other kids can get an idea of some fun books to go searching for in the library.

This poster will also look great hanging outside your classroom at the start of the New Year.

NOTE: If you don't want to do a book report poster, I have another Valentine poster where students reflect and write about things they love.

This book report is also a great way to hold kids accountable for their independent reading time, and it can also work great for a literacy center or simply an at-home activity.... many options.

This activity has plenty of places for students to add their own creative touches with color, as they do their illustration of their favorite scene, and color the New Year's themed illustrations.

Please note that the questions on this report are the SAME as the ones on my New Year's book report poster. They kids would simply have Valentine themed/love graphics on this one and they would do it on a different book.

The sections for the students to fill out are:

*Place for their name

* Title of book, Author

*Write a brief summary of the book.

*Main Character, trait evidence from story to support trait

*Problem in story, how it was solved

*Illustrate favorite scene.

Use as a center activity too. Use it in your classroom however you would like.
