WORLD GEOGRAPHY LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE Mega-Bundle - Mini-Posters AND Activities

Latitude and Longitude is nobody's idea of an easy thing to learn --or, for that matter, anybody's idea of an easy thing to teach.

Teach-and-Learn Social Studies has been there. And, based on a lot of experience teaching the subject and in response to a lot of conversations with other teachers, developed this great family of products that can finally make this important and powerful geography concept accessible to your students with minimum stress to you.

Teaching Lat and Long

- PRODUCT 1: A four-pack of 11 x 17 printable latitude and longitude posters that walk students through what latitude and longitude are, why they are important, and how they work. Each poster also has original easy-to-understand diagrams and drawings that teachers can use to teach or students can use to study. And, if you prefer to print on 8.5 x 11, they look great at that size, too.

- PRODUCT 2: Maybe you really like the diagrams and art on the posters but want to use them on a test or in your own materials. No problem. I have included a product with 15 lat and long clip art images for your use.

Practicing and Testing Lat and Long

Okay, so now you've taught and long but your students need some practice. Here are the great resources included in this bundle!

- PRODUCT 3: Lat and Long Practice Grids. Easy to print and copy, these clear and logical grids can be used for a wide variety of lat and long practice and study activities.

- PRODUCT 4: A Lat and Long Alphabet Dot-to-Dot Project. This product has 26 sets of lat and long coordinates that students place on a copy of the included lat and long grid page, connect the coordinates in order, and form a block letter. Grid coordinates for every letter from A to Z are included; so, by choosing which set of coordinates to assign, teachers can have students spell out fun and content-relevant messages.

- PRODUCT 5: Lat and Long Worksheets. A lat and long practice product: Exercise 1 asks in which quadrant (NE, NW, SE, SW) do you find major bodies of water and land masses (and your home city and hometown)? In Section 2 (15 questions) students use lat and long coordinates to find cities, countries, major landforms, a desert, and a canal; in Section 3 (15 questions) students identify the lat and long of cities, countries, mountain ranges, and more.
