What educators are saying

These word ladders are a fan favorite with my students. I love the ease of preparation. Thanks for a great resource!
These are great. I love the choice of practice with and without pre-drawn ladders. This allows me to differentiate for different groups and situations. Thanks so much!

    Description

Word ladders incorporate phonemic awareness (manipulation) with phonics and support decoding and spelling. These word chains make a great center game!

Students move down (or up) the ladder, changing one sound in each word to make the new word.

Ladders mark the changes and there are 2 versions to help you differentiate:

    • LEVEL 1 has the ladders to help students know which sound changes
    • LEVEL 2 does not have ladders so kids have to identify the change first, then write the new grapheme.

This activity is great to introduce whole-group, then practice in your small-group reading instruction and centers.

This BUNDLE of Word Ladders includes:

    ⭐ 8 CVC sets (x 2 versions of each)

    ⭐ 15 DIGRAPH sets (x 2 versions of each)

    ⭐ 12 BLENDS sets (x 2 versions of each)

    ⭐ 8 VCE sets (x 2 versions of each)

    ⭐ 8 AR / OR sets (x 2 versions of each)
