Description

Included in this activity are 22 warm-up task cards that review basic writing skills and informative essay writing in a step-by-step style. These task cards were created as a warm-up to help students with the difficult task of writing. They are created in a way that one task builds upon the other.

Included in these tasks are:
*Practice writing better sentences
*Identifying run-ons and fixing them
*How to write a power paragraph
*Practice labeling a power paragraph
*Using transitions
*Practicing transitions within a paragraph
*Writing a thesis statement
*Creating a hook
*Organizing ideas (Using graphic organizers)
*Citing text evidence
*Writing an informative essay (introduction, body, conclusion)

The informative task cards are aligned to the 2016 California Collections text book, but they can be used with any informative topic.
