Description
Year 6 History -Federation, Migration, Communities!
This unit of work will take a full term to complete and is based on the content descriptors from the Australian Curriculum: History learning area.
Each activity contains a student self-assessment rubric based on the Australian Curriculum elaborations but the wording has been changed to 'I can...' statements so children know exactly what the they need to do to succeed.
There is an individual student rubric at the beginning of the outline, which is to be completed by the teacher at the end of the term to determine grades and is a great resource when it comes time to writing reports.
The students will develop their research, technological and creative arts skills.
This unit contains 8 activities over 15 pages
1. Mind Map of Federation
2. The Important Folk of Federation and the Constitution
3. Important Events
4. Limited Power
5. Limited Power Narrative
6. Primary and Secondary Sources
7. Migration Stories
8.Australian of the Year
