TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have had the privilege and pleasure of teaching for 10 years in the PA public school system as both a special and general education teacher. In the traditional "brick and mortar" school, I have taught 6th grade learning support, 6-8th grade emotional support in a self-contained classroom, and 7-12th grade multiple disabilities support. I spent several years teaching K-3rd and 5th grade special education in a public virtual charter school. Additionally, I taught kindergarten general education.

MY TEACHING STYLE

It depends on my students! Every child is special and has a unique way of learning. I take time to assess my students' learning styles and then I vary my teaching style to effectively support my students' learning. However I teach, the instruction is always systematic and explicit. My students and I have a mutually respectful learning environment, and we always have fun!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 20 years. We have two children, our 17 year old son and 15 year old daughter. My son and daughter both cyber schooled for early elementary. Now in eleventh and ninth grade, we have had the opportunity to homeschool for the last several years. It has been a tremendous blessing to combine my ultimate passion - my children - with my love of teaching. It is an indescribable joy to know I taught my own children to read.
