TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my eighteenth year teaching general music; I also teach choir and have taught band and strings. Currently, I am Past President of the Midwest Kodaly Music Educators of America, and serve on the Technology Task Force for the Organization of American Kodaly Educators. I have taught Level I and III Pedagogy and Folk Song Research for DePaul University's Kodaly Program, and have also taught Level I courses for Colorado State University's Kodaly Program. In the spring of 2016, I was awarded Teacher of the Year at Cheshire Elementary.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching is mostly Kodaly-inspired, but I also draw upon my experience with Dalcroze and Orff.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I present music education workshops at chapters across the nation, and sessions at regional and national conferences.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received my Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University, and my Master of Music Education with a Kodaly emphasis from Capital University.
