I have been teaching K-8 general and choral music in New Jersey and New York City public schools for 11 years.
My teaching is mostly Kodaly-inspired, but I also draw upon my experiences with Orff. I have been trained in Responsive Classroom and believe in a "kind yet firm" approach to teaching.
I am the founding music teacher at the International Elementary School in Brooklyn, NY. I am also the founder and director of the award-winning elementary treble choir, the "Brooklyn Children's Chorus". I also direct the professional acapella group "Echo Acappella" and am currently the ACDA-NY R&R Chair for Acappella Music.
I earned my Bachelor in Music Ed from Pennsylvania State University, my Master of Arts in Music and Music Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, as well as my Kodály Levels from New York University. While teaching elementary general and choral music, I am currently earning my Doctorate of Music Arts in Music Education from Boston University.
