TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Toronto, Ontario. I have dedicated most of my career (twenty years!) to the kindergarten population. I worked as part of a co-instructional teacher-SLP team to deliver an early intervention program for groups of kindergarten students with oral language and early literacy difficulties. The program aimed to reduce the learning gaps of at-risk kindergarten students by furthering the communication and early literacy skills needed for grade one. At present, my caseload includes students from kindergarten to grade twelve. In addition to completing assessments and delivering direct oral language intervention, I provide consultation and programming support to educators. I am also part of the school-based multi-disciplinary special services team. I believe in early intervention and differentiated learning. I also believe in creating strong teacher-SLP-parent partnerships. I will continue to post new materials with these goals in mind. I have been a TPT follower and buyer for several years to access educational resources for my students and my own children. I only ventured on this new path as a TPT seller recently. I believe in my products. I thoroughly understand language milestones, early literacy development, and special needs learning profiles. I also have extensive experience working alongside teachers and their students.
