I spent my high school and college years working in a preschool as a teaching assistant and also helped run the K-3rd after school and summer programs. Best job ever! I interned with an elementary/highschool art teacher in college and considered making it my full time job, but fell into a pretty fun job painting in a professional theater. And there were the jobs as an interior design assistant for high end homes and as an in-house artist for a gift packaging company. All of these colorful experiences gave me some pretty incredible nuggets of knowledge that I use every day making clip art for smart cookies, budding brains, and their big people.

Knowing the value in an integrated arts classroom, when my 3 kids were little I would infuse our days with STEAM (before I knew it was a thing). Now that they're all in school full time I'm working on art in my new studio shed, and I'm the dedicated art sub for the district, subbing in both the elementary and high school art classrooms.
