This game is similar to Mad Libs. I use it to teach parts of a sentence, phrases and clauses, punctuation, and more. You won't believe the sentences that students create! My students ask me to play this game from time to time because they love it so much. It is a great way to review parts of a sentence, and it meets seventh grade common core language standards.
Compound Sentences- But Or Yet So
This lesson includes a do now where students are asked to identify compound sentences. Then, students will practice composing compound sentences for the coordinating conjunctions "but," "or," "yet," and "so." A definition, plus example sentences, is provided for each conjunction. Finally, students will apply their knowledge of composing the sentences in independent practice, composing a paragraph with 8 compound sentences.
