Description
This error analysis algebra activity will make your students really think about factoring polynomials. Students identify incorrect statements when presented with binomials and trinomials and their factored forms. Students are then asked to fix each error on their answer sheet.
On each card there are 3 polynomials and statements about their factored forms. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet. All quadratic trinomials in the activity have either A values of 1 or GCFs.
This activity gives students practice with factoring polynomials, as well as recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
