Description
This error analysis algebra activity will make your students really think about the key features of polynomial functions. Students identify incorrect statements about bounces, passes through, end behavior, degrees, and graphs' possible equations when presented with graphs and equations. Students are then asked to fix each error on their answer sheet.
On each card there is either a polynomial equation or graph and 3 statements about the function's end behavior, possible equation, bounces, pass throughs and/or degree. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice finding the key features of polynomials when analyzing their equations and graphs, as well as recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
