Description
This error analysis activity will make your students really think about midpoints and angle bisectors. Students identify incorrect statements about midpoints of segments and bisectors of angles when presented with their diagrams and expression measurements. Students are then asked to fix each error on their answer sheet.
On each card there are 2 diagrams (either 2 segments or 2 angles), as well as 3 statements about either the midpoints or the angle bisectors. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice determining if points and rays are midpoints and angle bisectors, solving equations with variables on both sides, and recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
