This error analysis activity will make your students really think about probability. Students identify incorrect statements when presented with compound event independent and dependent probability problems. Students are then asked to fix each error on their answer sheet.
On each card there is a probability word problem along with 3 statements about probability events. Students need to figure out which of the 3 statements is false (the "lie"), then correct the false statement on their answer sheet.
This activity gives students practice with finding the probability of compound events, as well as recognizing errors when they occur.
There are 10 cards, a student answer sheet and an answer key included.
