What educators are saying

Great resource to go along with the documentary. My students enjoyed watching the film, and the guide had just enough questions to keep them attentive without being overwhelming.

Description

"7 YARDS is a feature-length documentary that explores the resilience and perspective of Chris Norton. In October 2010 at age 18, Chris suffered a debilitating spinal cord injury during a college football game. Doctors gave him just a 3 percent chance to ever move again. But he defied that diagnosis." It is rated PG and has a 1 hour and 33 minute run time. It is currently on Netflix. It is VERY clean and classroom friendly - there are absolutely no worrisome parts of this documentary.

What do you get? You get a student worksheet for them to complete while watching the 7 Yards Documentary. There are 12 guided questions (that go in order with the movie), and 3 discussion questions for students to answer when the movie is over. I have included an answer key for the 12 guided questions. The discussion questions are more opinion based.

**Watching the movie and learning from it is more important than filling out blanks on a worksheet. The questions I have written are all geared toward healthcare/sports medicine.

How can you use this? You can use this as an emergency substitute lesson! I show this toward the end of our Rehabilitation Exercises unit. I highly recommend discussing the movie and the discussion questions with your students afterwards.
