    Description

This Halloween Bundle includes a Scavenger Hunt Activity, Matching Cards Activity, and a Practice Maze. Each resource gives students the opportunity to practice multiplying positive and negative fractions with the added fun of Halloween clipart.

    Scavenger Hunt

In this Halloween Math Activity, students practice Multiplying Positive & Negative Fractions. Once they complete a problem, they look around the room to find their answer and then do the problem on that card. This is a great way for students to practice, but have a way to check as they go.

    Materials Included:

    • Work page for students to record each problem, show work and write the answer.
    • Answer key
    • 20 Problem Cards (each in color, B&W, and no clipart)

Even if students don't have time to complete all 20 problems, you can check the work they were able to complete by making sure they were going in the right order.

    Matching Cards

In this Halloween Math Activity, students do the problems to practice Multiplying Positive & Negative Fractions. Once they complete a problem, they find the matching answer card as they go. After the students have done all the problems and know what answer matches each problem, they could use the cards to play memory with their partner or group.

    Materials Included:

    • Work page for students to record each problem, show work and write the answer.
    • Answer key
    • 42 Matching Cards (21 problems/21 answers)

Fewer could be used if a shorter amount of time is available

Options to print in color or black & white

    Easy to Check!

The maze allows the students to self-check as well as for the teacher to quickly check at a glance. Answer key included.

Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers.
Understand that multiplication is extended from fractions to rational numbers by requiring that operations continue to satisfy the properties of operations, particularly the distributive property, leading to products such as (–1)(–1) = 1 and the rules for multiplying signed numbers. Interpret products of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide rational numbers.
