ARE YOU AS TALL AS - ANIMAL & BONUS BOOK CHARACTER HEIGHT CHARTS

Use this height chart to engage students in the classroom or library. Choose a wall or door space and mark the heights of these animals with tape and the picture of the animal. Students can stand against the wall and compare themselves. You'll love hearing them cheer "I'm as tall as an emperor penguin!" It's fun for them to compare themselves with animals... they're especially surprised to learn a male ostrich can grow as tall as nine feet.

Each animal poster includes photo image, height in US customary as well as metric. There is also one or more book recommendations on the poster. The editable file will allow you to suggest titles you have in your library that match that particular animal.

If for some reason you don't like the measurements given in the PDF, you can edit the text in the PPT file. To match the original font, you'll need to download and use coolvetica. The editable file uses century gothic.

You can print two or four to a page to create smaller sizes more suitable for creating the wall. You do not have to use all of the posters. There is at least one animal at 1 ft, 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft.

Note: Animal heights are estimates after checking several reliable sources; all animal heights in this poster set are based on mature male animals. The panda height is based on standing on all four legs. The chimpanzee height is based on standing erect on legs.
