Description

Get ready for back to school with an engaging ice breaker activity! No more awkward first-day jitters. This icebreaker will help your students overcome their nerves and kickstart a fun-filled first day!

It's not just the introverts who will love it – the entire class, including you, will be oddly mesmerized. I can't explain why! (In fact, I've had teachers use this for professional development staff icebreakers too!)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "This resource was a game-changer for my introverted students on the first day of school. They felt comfortable, and everyone loved the activity, especially the excitement of comparing their drawings in the end."

In this activity, students will navigate through a series of slides, making choices between two options in response to thought-provoking image prompts. Depending on their choices, they will add unique elements to a character drawing.

Sometimes it's a quirky hairstyle or a trendy hat, and other times, there might even be a mischievous squirrel on their shoulder. Brace yourself, because as the drawing progresses, things get goofy and the giggles begin.

Here's the best part: instead of traditional sharing sessions in front of the entire class, everyone gets a chance to show their "artistic" creations. Each student holds their drawing in front of them and wanders around the room to check out their classmates' artwork, searching for kindred spirits, or perhaps even long-lost artistic twins!

It's a low-pressure way for students to engage in conversations, allowing their personalities to shine from day one.

What's Included:

✅ Digital student-facing directions

✅ 20 This or That questions with accompanying drawing prompts

✅ A blank human face worksheet

✅ Both PDF and Google Slides versions for your convenience

You will receive a high-resolution PDF file, perfect for projecting the questions on a screen and completing the activity as a class.

OR

You can choose to send the Google Slides in "present" mode, allowing students to work independently at their own pace. I've included a blank template for you to add more prompts if desired!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Looking for a fun and unique way to kickstart the new school year? Look no further! This back-to-school activity is not only enjoyable but also an excellent opportunity to get to know your students. The possibilities for wacky creations are truly endless!"

This back-to-school activity is the perfect way to create an inclusive and lively classroom environment.
