What educators are saying

I am looking forward to seeing what my students come up with for their castles. The project is well laid out and easy to implement and understand for teachers and students.

Description

Having students build a castle is a great hands-on way to bring history to life! Get students engaged and excited about learning and researching medieval history.

I used this assignment with my class, and it was a hit! Students were very into the project and turned in amazing castle models at the end; they also became castle experts!

Use this resource as-is or as inspiration for your own version of this assignment. The project involves doing research, building and labeling a model castle, and writing a short summary about life in castles, castle defense, and the castle that the student built. This resource includes a detailed assignment page, a student planning page (for students to turn in so you can check in on their progress), and a grading rubric.
