Building bricks/LEGO bricks and mini figures are the perfect way to “hook” and engage little writers by allowing them to visualize and plan creative stories in a hands-on way! Students will explore 8 different writing genres by building, planning, and writing original stories.
All you need for Build a Story are building bricks, baseplates, and mini figures!
Build a Story can be used either as a Literacy Center or a whole class writing workshop. Students may work alone or you may also choose to allow students to build, plan, and write in groups of 2-3. For Literacy Centers, student will need 45-60 minutes to complete an entire story. Writing workshops may be extended across multiple days as time allows.
