What educators are saying

This was a fantastic resource for teaching how to record transactions and use a checkbook register. This is one of my go-to resources every year! If you have similar resources.. let me know!! :-) #bestpurchaseever!!
I used this as a way to review adding and subtracting decimals in a real world way. My students loved it!!

Description

Students work through 12 task cards, adding the transactions on each card to their registers. Students then find balances after each transaction and a final balance. Task cards do not need to be completed in order; every student will end with the same balance if all transactions are entered correctly.

A check register acts as a student answer sheet. Also included is a simple grading rubric so that you can award credit to students who showed effort but may not have gotten the final balance correct. I use this activity in my high school Consumer Math class, but I feel that it can probably also work for younger students.
