What educators are saying

Loved this resource. Was able to send a copy home to parents and they were thrilled to use the same thing at home that we do in the class.
Useful hand sign posters and I like the small 5" circles and diverse skin tones included. I appreciate that the correct ASL signs are used. Great product!

Description

***MAJOR UPDATE 6/20/22 to include 14 ADDITIONAL hand signs, new poster styles, and the option of clipart as a visual aid for struggling readers!

These Classroom Hand Signal Posters follow a rainbow theme! This color scheme is used throughout the other Rainbow decor products I have available. There are a lot of simple posters offered in this pack, however, so if you are not wanting to use a rainbow theme, this will work for your classroom, too!

There are four different types of posters to choose from:

  1. Simple: Full-page posters with a black-and-white border
  2. Color Scheme: Full-page posters with borders that follow the rainbow theme. Each poster is available in every color!
  3. Visual Aid Clipart: Full-page posters with an additional clipart image to help struggling readers. These are available in the simple and the color scheme, as well as the circles (see below). The following words have this clipart: pencil, sit, stand, tissue, toilet, restroom, bathroom, wash, and water.
  4. 5in.x 5in. Circles: These come two to a page. These have the option of including the visual aid clipart as well.

I taught my first grade students the ASL signs for restroom, water, tissue, sit, stand, and yes this past year to help with classroom management and minimize disruptions. I used the "sit" hand sign to remind them to fix the way they are sitting during carpet time. It's a quick, silent reminder that worked for a lot of my students! They used the "restroom" sign to ask permission and I would respond with the "yes" or "no" sign. There was not an ASL clipart sign for "wait" or "one second" if a child asked to use the restroom and I needed them to wait a minute, so I taught them that if I held up one finger, that meant wait one minute.

The ASL hand signals included are:
