Description
This is an entire season's worth of carefully crafted workout and training plans for coaching Cross Country. Every workout is designed with clear purpose, and makes good sense in the scope of each week's training and the season as a whole. Workouts are broken down by segment, clearly outlined, and differentiated for different skill level runners.
A nutrition plan is also included alongside the workout plan. This guide will help runners realize how to lead healthy lifestyles, be strong from head to toe, gain mental toughness, and grow disciplined for achieving success both off and on the course.
As a former captain of the Drew University Cross Country team, I thoroughly enjoy coaching the sport at the high school level, and have a real passion for fitness and training today. I strongly believe that a healthy body can equate to a healthy mind, and that working out hard along with healthy eating is a lifestyle choice that can help a person discover their full potential.
By crafting and implementing these workout plans, I was able to lead my runners to see vast improvements throughout the season. Workouts begin with volume and distance as the main focuses early on, before transitioning to detailed interval training and speed work in preparation for performing at the highest possible levels in the latter stages of the season and in championship meets.
The main philosophy of these workout plans is to keep runners healthy, hungry, and peaking at the right time.
