Description

The graphs included are based on DIBELS 8 goals found on the DIBELS 8 University of Oregon site (updated July 2020) that Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students are working towards. Please check with your district, as these may differ from the DIBELS 8th Edition, University of Oregon. I have provided editable graphs for you to tailor the goals according to your district’s and school’s needs.

Here are some tips on how I use this resource in my class:

WHEN?: Each time I progress monitor students, they record their scores on their graphs. Students and I have a discussion about their progress and set a goal for the next time I progress monitor a skill. Generally, I progress monitor students every 2 - 4 weeks (depending on student need). Also, for targeted instruction, I may only progress monitor a student on a skill or two, rather than all of the measures.
ORGANIZATION: Students keep their graphs in their reading folders. Classroom teachers also keep graphs in students’ Personalized Learning Plans (PLP’s) and/or teacher data binders. These graphs provide useful data when talking about student progress with parents and administration.

Since I work with students in reading intervention, their graphs may look different from students who are meeting benchmark goals. This is why I stress the importance of individualized goals and celebrating student progress towards their goals.

I hope these graphs save you time and help students work towards meeting their DIBELS 8 assessment goals!

Happy Reading!
