To use the PowerPoint version, you will need to download two fonts. Directions and links are included! If you prefer the original editable PDF with fonts embedded, that is included as well. You have the option to choose! :)

Please note that you will need PowerPoint in order to access the most up-to-date version of the substitute binder! You will also need two fonts if you want the text that you type to match the rest of the sub-binder. The fonts are free, and directions are included within the resource. :)

What's included in the Sub Binder?

• Type your name onto this cute, colorful editable binder cover!
• Step-by-step, detailed instructions will help you get your sub binder going in no time!
• We walk you through how to fill out the editable sections of the PDF with form-filling instructions. The instructions also tell you how to change the font and text size, if you so desire.
• Pre-made divider pages are now included for the following sections: Important School Schedules, Class & School Information, Classroom & Behavior Management, Our Classroom Procedures, Anything Else You May Need, and Emergency Sub Plans. (Note: sub plans aren't included, this is just the divider page.) In addition, several editable divider pages are included, so you can create whatever divider pages you'd like!
• Divider sections plus editable binder tabs so you can organize as you, please!
• Binder spines are included for 1", 1.5", and 2" binders. You can choose whether to use the version where you add your name (Your Name's Substitute Binder) or just a plain one that says "Substitute Binder."
• Instructions for the editable seating chart (in a separate PowerPoint) are included, as are blank pages if you'd rather hand draw your seating chart (or if you aren't tech savvy).
• The back cover is also included, with a text box to write an editable note on it.
• There is an editable table of contents for your sub, rather than you. I pre-typed everything that is included in the binder and the dividers as I organized it. You can tweak it if you decide to make any changes.
• A note to substitute welcomes them to the class and gives a brief overview of the information the forms include. You can edit the contents of the blue box as you’d like or leave it as is. Just sign your name!
• You can fill in the bell schedule so your sub knows which bells to listen for.
• In the school schedule, you type in the activity and time for each transition throughout the day.
• If you have an early dismissal day or other schedules, you can fill out an alternate schedule for that.
• I also included a specials schedule for you to type in the dates and times for various specials- such as P.E., music, computers, library, etc.
• Fill in some basic school & staff info about the school as well as staff your sub will want to know.
• Classroom Info including the number of students, student helpers, and where to find various items.
• The customizable class list so that you can type the boys' names on one side and the girls' names on the other, in alphabetical order, or however you, please. Two columns are included, so you can fit all your students easily and organize them as you would like. You could also leave one side blank for notes if you prefer. Do whatever works best for you and your class!
• Let your sub know about important information for individual student contract info & pullouts such as those on behavior contracts or those who may be pulled out for resource or speech.
• Make sure your sub knows student health info & other student needs such as student allergies, medications, or special needs.
• Let your sub know the class rules & behavior management plan so that they know what to do when a student is acting out.
• Attention prompts & transition procedures so that your sub knows what signals are used to get students on track and procedures such as lining up, etc.
• Procedures for arrival & dismissal routines 
• Procedures for getting attendance to the office as well as bathroom/hall pass procedures.
• Lunchtime, line-up procedures, etc., as well as special procedures for assemblies.
• Let your sub know the emergency procedures for a drill or an actual emergency event.
• Let the sub know the indoor recess and natural disaster procedures for either a drill or if an emergency happens while you are away.  You can also note indoor recess procedures for severe weather conditions.
• Instructions for differentiation, if you want your sub to differentiate any of the lessons for certain students, you can give directions here.
• If you are using lesson plans that are pre-written (including my Ready to Go Sub Plans), note any lesson adjustments that you would like made to the lesson plans.
• Add any additional notes that you would like to make for your sub.
• How did your day go? End-of-Day Form, you can leave this form for your sub to fill out at the end of the day so you know how it went.
• An easy classroom management tool, substitute punch cards that any sub can use! You can decide on incentives and how they are used.
