Essential Questions for Essential Elements for Band, book 1

Are you required to create an Essential Question each day for your band class? Do you use Essential Elements for Band, book 1? I created an Essential Question for every line in the Essential Elements for Band method book. Words in the Essential Question that are underlined indicate Mastery concepts. You can use each of these Essential Questions either “as is” or you could use them as a prompt and adjust to your individual band class. Essential Questions are numbered in outline form according to the student page.

(June 2022) I am currently writing a companion "handbook" on how to create the most effective, most efficient, and most engaging way to teach through Essential Elements. The goal is to give other band teachers the best way to increase student learning, ear training, and retention as much as possible. The working title is, How to Effectively and Efficiently Increase Student Learning When Using Essential Elements for Band, Book 1. (Pre-Covid, I was able to finish the book, and by 8th grade, students were playing grade 3 & 4 music--in a low-SES, Title 1 community and county.)
