Description
This activity from Teaching in the Fast Lane is a quick and easy way to put your students in the shoes of an European Explorer who has come to the Americas.
After students have learned about explorers they will each choose an explorer. From the explorer’s point of view they will write a postcard home.
They should include information about:
their journey to the Americas
anyone they may have met
what they found during their travels
their future plans
Once students have completed their writing they should illustrate the opposite side with a scene from their newly discovered lands.
