Description

This activity is an introduction to the many mathematical properties found in Pascal’s Triangle. Your students will search for several different patterns among the numbers of the triangle. Intended for middle school students, Exploring Pascal’s Triangle includes these concepts:
• patterns
• sums
• counting numbers
• odd and even numbers
• horizontal and diagonal
• powers
• perfect squares
• prime numbers
• divisibility

This activity will familiarize your students with Pascal’s Triangle so that they will be prepared to utilize it in high school math classes when learning of its relationships to probability and polynomial equations.

Included in this product are six content pages:
• printable Pascal’s Triangle sheet with bottom row blank for students to fill in, both color and black-and-white versions
• printable two-page student worksheet
• answer key
