What educators are saying

This is a great resource for my students to use. It was a way for me to reinforce concepts from the previous year.

Description

Your students will master bar graphs and picture graphs with this set of 3 unique print-and-go activities. If you love activities that fully engage your students, this is the graphing resource for you. If you have different levels of ability, with some students who can do bar graphs in their sleep and others who don't know what a graph is, this resource is for you! It's packed with three activities designed to get students to master of this standard.

They'll review the concept of bar and picture graphs using a video and guided notes. Then, they'll gather their own data by conducting a mini research study. You'll get four different possible topics already created for you, as well as a template for students who want to choose their own topic.

For the third graphing activity, they'll graph the data they collected on bar and/or picture graphs.

Once the graphs are completed, the students will switch graphs and answer reflection questions about their peers’ graphs.

There are accommodations for students who need them, as well as differentiation options for high-ability or gifted students.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Can my younger students really conduct research? Yep. In fact, they're really good at it with clear instructions and reasonable expectations (provided for you in the resource).
  2. This seems pretty involved. How much prep is there? Almost none. This is print-and-go, for sure. If you do Activity 1, you'll need to pull up the video on the screen. It could not be easier.
  3. How much do my students need to know already about bar and picture graphs? These activities are designed for practice and review, so you'll want to have introducted the standard previously.
