By now you know that dual language, bilingual resources are essential to support our ESL students. “Hebrew Speakers: ESL Newcomer Activities: Vocabulary - Verbs” builds vocabulary and enhances English speaking and reading skills in ESL Hebrew speakers. This ESL newcomers activities resource contains verbs common to everyday student life. Beneficial for Jewish ESL students all ages including ESL adult beginners.

How to Use Dual Language Action Verbs Vocabulary Lists

  • Play a listening game. (After practicing and learning some of the words) Give each Hebrew ESL student a copy of the vocabulary list. In random order, say an English word from the list. Students scan the list and circle the word.
  • Play a speaking game. Using a round robin method, have each ESL Hebrew-Jewish student pick a verb from the list and verbally use it in a sentence to the best of their ability.
  • Use for spelling tests. As your Jewish students learn the meanings of words, they should also learn how to spell them.
