Identifying Triggers: Classroom Guidance Lessons for Recognizing Triggers

Recognizing and Managing Triggers Lessons: This 2-lesson set includes classroom guidance lessons on identifying triggers, or situations that result in a change in emotion level, and managing these experiences. Students participate in a “scoot” activity to evaluate 28 scenarios and determine what emotion or emotion level they would experience in the given situation. In a movement-based game, students will practice the “stop and think” principle to respond to a trigger. After participating in these lessons, students will know what situations or events trigger a change in their emotion levels and be familiar with the concept of “stop and think.” These lessons include interactive, cooperative activities to get your students engaged and growing!
