    Description

TWO GREAT RESOURCES in ONE BUNDLE - Examine the Effects of the Industrial Revolution with an engaging Gallery Walk and follow up with a Primary Source Analysis Activity to help your students better understand the impact of the Industrial Revolution on the people of the era.

Effects of the Industrial Revolution Walking Tour or Gallery Walk Activity - a resource for covering the content while students practice analysis and inquiry skills!

This is a 10 card activity which requires students to view 10 image and information cards on specific effects of the Industrial Revolution. This entire activity is in PDF format, allowing the teacher greater versatility in use and with printing or presentation.

In one option, students travel around the room to view each placard. They will take the data down onto a provided handout and will follow prompts to analyze the information and apply it to modern times.

The activity is followed by a quick content review with wrap-up questions, and an essay assignment asking students to make a comparison to modern issues.

Teacher directions are provided in the notes sections.

This lesson is designed for use in a World History, European History, or U.S. History class on the topic of the Effects of the Industrial Revolution.

Industrial Revolution Primary Source Analysis Activity
Allow students to examine the Industrial Revolution through the analysis of primary sources. Take students back into the mines and the mills and let them hear the stories from those who lived at that time.

Teaching suggestions are included, but my favorite implementation strategy is to create small groups where students can examine the documents and images together to discuss the sources and their significance.

Includes 2 pages of primary sources:

    Charts

    Book Excerpts

    Quotes

    Report Summary

    Various Images

Analysis Questions utilize spiral questioning format.

Includes an optional assignment for students to create protest posters for the issues they find to be of most concern for the time period.
