    Description

Introduce or review insect life cycles with foldable sequencing activities and Google Slides presentations. This resource covers the life cycles of a butterfly, honey bee, ladybug, and dragonfly. For each life cycle, there is a bright and engaging presentation and a cut-and-paste activity.

    The Google Slides presentations

Over 100 slides (in 4 separate slide shows) to take students on the insect life cycle journey from egg to adult. Each presentation has real photos and facts about the insect. Editable text boxes on each slide allow for any adjustments to best suit your learners.

    The foldout templates

For each insect life cycle, there are differentiated templates so you can choose which will work best for your students (including easy-cut version with straight edges). Students color their template, sequence the 4 life cycle stages, glue, cut, and fold. Please note, the PDF templates are not editable.

    Benefits of using foldable activities

    • Low prep
    • Children learn about life cycles in a fun and hands-on way, that’s a bit different from a standard science worksheet.
    • Can be used to introduce the life cycle, or as a review/assessment to check understanding.
    • Encourages fine motor/scissor skills, hand-eye coordination (folding), and sequencing.
    • Differentiated options allow for multiple age ranges or abilities to do the same activity.
    • Finished foldouts can be inserted into an interactive notebook where they can be referenced by children.
