Introduction to Periodic Table of Elements

This file includes several items:
1. Teacher Version SMART Notebook of Periodic Table of Elements (this includes notes, formative assessment checkpoints, and activities to complete)
2. Teacher Version PPT Version of Periodic Table of Elements (the fonts do not transfer over as nice, but if your school does not have a SMARTBoard, this is an option.)
3. Student Version both in SMART Notebook and PPT form with blanks for students to use as a note-taking guide.

There is a lot of information on these slides. We discuss Mendeleev, metals, nonmetals, metalloids, and their properties, (PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT GO INTO SPECIFIC GROUPS HERE! THEREFORE, ALKALI METALS, ETC. ARE MENTIONED BUT NOT DISCUSSED IN DEPTH). There are a lot of great lab activities and formative assessment pieces throughout that students can come up to the board to answer, or you may have them complete and check for a grade, etc.
