This site includes articles, infographics, voices from other students, and ALL of the content needed for students to engage in the writing process on the topic.
The topic of this pack is: Is Fortnite for Kids?
This pack explores this topic, while asking students to make their own determination on the topic based on the evidence provided.
- There is an article included that gives information about the pros and cons of Fortnite.
- Students are also given a note page, a graphic organizer to get them through the planning stage of planning, as well as page to write their essay.
- Student voices are also included to get real-life opinions of other students.
- This activity allows students to read articles, while practicing using text details to support their claim, a common core standard of writing.
- Students complete their research on their Chromebooks, laptops, or PC
Please note that the articles include the words "kill, guns, and weapons" when discussing the Fortnite game. When discussing these words, the articles suggest that these are reasons why the game is NOT appropriate for young people. The articles are written in an age-appropriate manner for grades 3-6.
I have this project listed as taking a week. This would be the approximate length if you used this as a complete project using the stages of writing.
