I use these activities at the beginning of the year to get to know my students. They require some creativity from my students and they seem to enjoy completing them.

Printable PDFs and Digital Activities for Google Slides Included:

  1. Library Find Someone Who | Students walk around the room and find someone who has done each statement. They write their name in each book on the line! Students try to find someone different for each statement.
  2. Library True or False | Students read each statement. If it is true for them they fill in the thumbs up, if it is false for them they fill in the thumbs down.
  3. Library Would You Rather | Students read two statements and then color in the one that they would rather do! This is a fun way to get to know your students likes and reading routines!
  4. Library Question and Answers | Students read each question and write the answer to the question on the line.
  5. Library Design a Bookmark | Students create the front and back of a bookmark by designing it to tell about themselves! They draw pictures and write words to tell about things they like and that tell about them.
  6. All About Me Bookshelf | Students fill in the spine of each book to show/tell different information about themselves!
  7. All About _______ | This organizer allows students to write their name and draw a picture of themself in the book in the center of the page. Then, they draw and write about different things they like, around the center book.
  8. All About My"Shelf" | Students add book titles, toys, and items to their bookshelf to tell about themself! They can showcase the things they love by drawing and decorating the bookshelf!
  9. Library Survey in Emojis | Students read each statement and then fill in the emoji that best fits how they feel about the statement. There is a smiley face, straight face, and sad face.
  10. All About My"Selfie"| Students color what looks like apps on a phone to show different favorite things.
