Description

Are you introducing or reviewing the life cycle of a star with younger students? These fun foldouts are a simple and memorable way to sequence a low-mass or high-mass star's life cycle stages. Multiple template options allow you to select an option that works best for your students.

Use for a science lesson about outer space, stars, the sun, or the universe!

The templates

  • Template 1 (low-mass star): Color the star and star life cycle stages, sequence the stages, glue, cut and fold. Life cycle stages are included with or without arrows.
  • Template 2 (low-mass star): Color the star and star life cycle stages, cut out the stage names and glue them onto the template, cut and fold.
  • Template 3 (high-mass star): Color the star and star life cycle stages, sequence the stages, glue, cut, and fold. Life cycle stages are included with or without arrows.
  • Template 4 (high-mass star): Color the star and star life cycle stages, write the name of each stage next to the pictures, glue, cut and fold.

The stages

The names of the life cycle stages used in this resource are:

Low-mass star: Stella nebula, main sequence star, red giant, planetary nebula, white dwarf, black dwarf.

High-mass star: Stella nebula, main sequence star, red supergiant, supernova, black hole and neutron star.

What else is included?

  • Picture showing where to fold the template
  • B/w and color poster showing the full life cycle
  • Color cards with stage names (3 to a page)
  • US (letter-size) and UK (A4) versions of the file.

Is the file editable?
