Long A aCe ai ay Phonics Craft

Hands on phonics craft that helps students review Long a sounds ai, ay and a_e! This supplemental phonics sorting activity provides great review and can be completed whole group or small group. It is appropriate for first or second grade students practicing this skill. Students read the words and look at the pictures to sort each of the long a words in the correct section.

Great to use for phonics review to review spelling patterns. Easy to assemble

Craft directions:

1)Assemble the sailboat - cut out the large circle and the triangle first. Fold the circle on the dotted line so the wording is on the inside. Tape a popsicle stick to the back of the half circle and attach the triangle on the top to make a sailboat shape.

2)Cut out the picture and words. Sort them into the correct long a spelling of a_e, ai or ay. Glue the pictures on the square shapes and the words next to them.

3)Check your work and color!
