Math ACT Prep Curriculum BUNDLE - Lesson Plans and Resources

This curriculum bundle was developed as a 9 week course for Math ACT Prep. It can be used as a stand-alone course or as supplemental material to work into any mathematics course to assist students as they are preparing for the ACT. Bonus notes are included with suggestions for timeframe modifications if you have less than 9 weeks to work with your students.

What is contained in the curriculum?

Within each unit, there are daily resources. Each day includes a suggested lesson plan, bell ringer, activity/worksheet, review slides, guided notes, ACT-type practice questions, and an exit ticket. Supplemental videos are included (as links) for review slides and question solution walk-thrus. See the review video for Day 6: Mean, Median, Mode here.

What format is the material?

Upon purchasing the Math ACT Prep Curriculum, you will receive a Zip file containing the daily resources. The lesson plan, bell ringers, activity/worksheets, review slides, guided notes, ACT-type practice questions, and exit tickets will all be in .pdf form. In addition, I am providing some of the material via Google file sharing. These files will include the lesson plans (Google Docs), review slides (Google slides), and guided notes (Google docs). This will allow you to adjust any of those materials to meet your specific needs. As part of your file download, you will receive instructions on how to gain access to the Google material.

What units will this curriculum contain?

The units in this curriculum match ACT documentation for reporting categories. See the preview for more details contained in each unit. The material covered in this curriculum is, in my experience as an ACT Prep instructor, the topics seen most often on the ACT. These units will be updated as needed based on future testings.

What students is this curriculum designed for?

The Math ACT Prep Curriculum is design for any student preparing for the math section of the ACT. The material within the curriculum is intended to provide students with a review of math skills most have already been exposed to in previous mathematics classes. Reviewing and practicing these skills, along with practicing solving ACT-type questions, is essential for most students to prepare to do their very best. It is my goal that the students are also learning the material to use as life-long skills in their careers and life, and not just for testing purposes. That is why I feel this material should be used and reviewed over an extended period of time to help the students “soak in” all the math skills.

What standards are covered by this curriculum?

The resources in this curriculum were developed based on actual ACT tests. One would expect an overlap between ACT testing topics and state standards, but mapping to the standards is not a focus in this curriculum. Please see the preview for a complete list of topics included so that you can compare to your own curriculum and standards as needed.
