What educators are saying

This was a terrific introduction to cursive for my students. It was easy to print, then I punched holes in it and added it to their handwriting binder.
Great resource for cursive with my students. They enjoyed using this and I liked how easy it was for me!

Description

I designed the Modern Cursive Writing Pack for my 2nd graders. I wanted my students to learn and practice each letter, as well as numbers, and then incorporate practicing words as we progress. This pack is in the modern D'Nealian cursive font.

Included :

2 cursive handwriting keys in color and 2 in black and white. Each set includes one with directional arrows and one without. These are great for keeping on the student’s desks for a quick reference. I have also sent copies home for students to use for homework.

There are 28 handwriting worksheets. Each is labeled in the right corner with the form number. These are designed to be completed in order. It begins with letters and numbers and then includes word practice. I designed each page so that the words include letters that have been previously practiced. I firmly believe that the students should learn the letters independently before practicing them in words.

I designed this set to be taught starting with form 1 and continue in order from there. These worksheets begin with short lowercase letters (c,a,n,m,e,s,i,r,o,u,w,v,x), then move to tall letters (h,b,d,t,l,k), then finish with letters with tails (z,f,g,y,p,j,q). It introduces each uppercase letter with its corresponding lowercase letter. It is much easier for children to progress learning the letters in this sequence.

Each worksheet begins with tracing each lowercase letter with directional arrows as guides. The second line involves tracing without the directional arrows. The third line is for the student to write the letter freely. This repeats with the uppercase letter. At the bottom will be a number (worksheets 1-10) and then progress into the words. Remember: The words will only contain letters that have been previously introduced.
