What educators are saying

I use this resource in the morning after morning work during a time when some of my students are transitioning out. They can't wait to see the riddle or question each day and it keeps my students who stay in the room engaged.
My students loved writing in their journals every morning using this resource. It was both fun and engaging and was a great way to reinforce their writing skills.

IDEAS FOR THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT

Perfect to project onto the screen first thing in the morning as students enter the classroom.

Great to use during morning meetings to establish a positive classroom environment where students feel seen and heard.

Excellent to use throughout the day as a time-filler when you have a few minutes in your schedule here and there that you want to fill with quick and easy activities.

Customize the use of this product in any way you want:

    • Discuss all the different daily components every day, and pick and choose which journal students will write in each day
    • Choose a couple of daily components to discuss each day and then assign the matching journal pages
    • Choose one daily component to discuss and journal about each day.

Here is an example of what that could look like:

Monday- “Make me laugh Monday”- Share and discuss the joke of the day and then practice handwriting and joke writing with the matching Joke of the Day journal page.

Tuesday- “Tell Me More Tuesday”- Share and discuss the question of the day and then write about your answer to the daily question on the matching question of the day journal page.

Wednesday- “Words of Wisdom Wednesday”- Share and discuss the words of wisdom of the day, and then students can write about their thoughts and ideas surrounding the daily words of wisdom on the matching advice of the day journal page.

Thursday- “Think it through Thursday”-  Share and discuss the logic puzzle of the day and then students can use the student workbook to solve the daily puzzle.

Friday- “Fun Fact Friday”- Share and discuss the fun fact of the day and then students can expand their thinking on the matching fact of the day journal page.

    You can also:

    • Assign which journal you want students to write in each day

    • Allow students to use the corresponding journals as extra credit or “what to
do when your work is done” activities throughout the day.

    • Use the journals for writing workshop time

    • Use the journals for shared writing or guided writing lessons

    • Use the journals for handwriting practice. (My Joke of the Day Journal is
    particularly good for this!)

This is a great resource to use with your students because the format is predictable and repetitive. Students know what to expect each day and in what order, and this makes your morning routine run much more efficiently.

You won't be disappointed with the engagement level and the powerful impact this resource will have on your classroom community!
