Description
3 integer multiplication puzzles to help students strengthen their understanding of multiplying integers while building their number sense. The puzzles are easily differentiated to meet the needs of your students. Ideas for differentiating are included in the PDF.
Puzzle #1 has 4 blank spaces and 6 sorting slips. Students figure out which integers will multiply to the rows and columns. You can choose to give students all 6 sorting slips or only the 4 sorting slips that correctly complete the puzzle.
Puzzle #2 has 6 blank spaces and 7 sorting slips. You can choose to give students all 7 sorting slips or just the 6 that correctly complete the puzzle. To further decrease the challenge of this puzzle, you can sort one of the slips onto the puzzle grid before giving it to students.
Puzzle #3 has 8 blank spaces with 8 sorting slips. It is a 3x3 grid with the middle integer filled in. This will be the most challenging puzzle.
Includes both print and digital versions of the 3 puzzles. The digital versions are drag-and-drop in GOOGLE Slides. If you choose to differentiate the puzzles, you can make an extra copy of the Slides file and delete the "distractor" numbers from puzzles #1 and #2, and/or sort one (or more) of the numbers onto the puzzles before sharing with students. An answer key is included.
