Is your class learning about local politics and your local community?

In this hands-on project, students will create a local community profile on their town, city, or county. The students will research their local government officials, compile demographic data on their area, interview local citizens, attend a local government meeting or event, and perform a community service. Through this project students will be able to better understand the functions of local government and the importance these officials and policies have on their lives.
