NYS Global Two Regents Full-Year Curriculum: Updated for New Exam

This bundle loosely follows but includes all major aspects of the NYS Global History Framework (10.1-10.10). I personally use all of these materials in my own classroom where I have taught 10th grade NYS Global History since 2007. As I update my material for myself, I commit to you that I will also update my material in these bundles.

There are several FREE samples in my TPT store of what a page in a student packet or a section of my PPTs look like.

Every unit includes:

• A student packet with worksheets, group and/or independent work
• Corresponding PPTs with student packet answer keys and guided notes, including pictures and video links
• A unit test
• One or more practice CRQs
• Some units include full Enduring Issue Essays, clever "hooks" I use, station activities or other helpful material

Unit One: The World in 1750

• Tokugawa Shogunate, Ottoman and Mughal Empires; Enlightenment philosophers and reformers

Unit Two: Revolution and Nationalism

• Causes of the French Revolution; reign of Robespierre and Napoleon; introduction of the concept of Nationalism; Haitian Revolution; Latin American Revolutions; the unification of Germany and Italy

Unit Three: the Industrial Revolution

• The Agricultural Revolution; origins in Great Britain; negative impact of the revolution; capitalism; urbanization; rise of new legislation, unions and socialism

Unit Four: Imperialism

• East India Company in India and the Sepoy Mutiny; the Opium War in China, spheres of influence and Taiping and Boxer Rebellion

Unit Five: WWI mini unit

• Nationalism in the Balkan peninsula; causes of WWI; new weaponry of WWI

Unit Six: The Bolshevik Revolution and Communist Russia

• causes of and progression of the Bolshevik Revolution; philosophy of socialism; rule of Lenin and Stalin; Ukrainian genocide

Unit Seven: Between the Wars

• rise of nationalist movements including, Gandhi and civil disobedience, Sun Yixian's overthrow of the Qing and Chinese civil war, the rise of Zionism; Fourteen Points and the partition of Austria-Hungary; the partition of the Ottoman Empire into the Mandate System; Kemal Ataturk's modernization of Turkey; the British Suffrage Movement; the Treaty of Versailles and rise of Fascism

Unit Eight: World War II

• Causes of World War II; appeasement; major turning points; the Holocaust; Nuremberg and Tokyo Trials; the creation of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Unit Nine: the Cold War

• Causes of the Cold War; Europe and the Iron Curtain; American policy of Containment; Hungary and Czechoslovakian uprisings; Korean War, Vietnam War, Cuban Missile Crisis; the arms race; the collapse of the Soviet Union

Unit Ten: Modern China

• The Chinese Civil War; the rule of Mao Zedong; the rule of Deng Xiaoping; China today

Unit Eleven: Modern Middle East

• the role of OPEC in the Middle East; the establishment of Israel and history of the Arab-Israeli Conflict; the conflict between traditional and modern ideas, including the Iranian Revolution; major issues the Middle East faces today

Unit Twelve: Decolonization and Globalization

• Apartheid and the movement to end it; African Independence movements; human rights violations, including Cambodia, Yugoslavia, Chile, Rwanda and Sudan; the characteristics of a Globalized world and the issues associated with it
