Absolutely love the activity. We did this activity during Pi day last year, students were very impressed with results and new facts!
This was awesome! My students had a lot of fun creating visuals for the classroom. They were very proud of themselves.

    Description

This bundle includes 3 activities to celebrate Pi Day - 2 math pennant activities and a Pi Day mobile craft. You can read additional information about each of the activities included in the bundle by clicking on the links below:

Brief summary of what's Included in this bundle:

    1: Pi Day Pennant*

In this Pi Day activity, students work with the circle formulas to find area, circumference, radius and diameter. Each pennant also includes a Fun Fact that students can read as they complete their circle problems. Once a pennant is complete, it can be hung along a string in your classroom to celebrate Pi Day!

*a metric version of this activity is also included.

2: Pi Day Pennant for Middle School

In this collaborative activity celebrating Pi Day, students find areas and circumferences of circles. Other questions ask students to find total pie area given the area of one piece and to find diameter given radius and vice versa. Most pennants include a "Fun Fact" about pi that students can read as they complete their circle problems. Once a pennant is complete, it can be colored and then hung along a string in your classroom to celebrate Pi Day!

    3: Pi Day Mobile

This Pi mobile would be a great introduction to pi, the concept of irrational numbers or as part of a study of Albert Einstein, who was born on Pi Day! Students can color all parts of the mobile while learning facts about Pi. There are directions included on the first page of the download for how the mobile goes together. Three shapes, each 2-sided (all sides are different) hang from a circular top. I used embroidery thread to make my mobile but any thread would work.
