Description

Pictographs and Bar Graphs Math Stations

This second grade pictographs and bar graphs math station set is a no frills all action product meant to cement students' knowledge of using bar graphs and pictographs to solve addition and subtraction problems for standardized testing. All ten of the activities included were created entirely in black and white to save on colored ink, and make for easy use of the copy machine.

I use these activities in class and with my testing study group after school.

It was created with the following standards in mind:

TEKS
2.10A explain that the length of a bar in a bar graph or the number of pictures in a pictograph represents the number of data points for a given category
2.10B organize a collection of data with up to four categories using pictographs and bar graphs with intervals of one or more
2.10C write and solve one-step word problems involving addition or subtraction using data represented within pictographs and bar graphs with intervals of one
2.10D draw conclusions and make predictions from information in a graph

Common Core
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.2.MD.D.10 Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.
