R-Controlled Vowels GO FISH Phonics Game

Fun phonics game for introduction or review of r-controlled vowel words ar, er, ir, or, ur! This is great for a partner game or literacy center activity. Students are engaged as they read the words and play the game with a friend. This activity will help support your balanced literacy classroom with whichever phonics program you use.

**PRINT ON THICK CARD STOCK PAPER TO PREVENT FROM SEEING THROUGH.

HOW TO PLAY:

1) Pass 5 cards out to each player.

2) Decide who will go first (we roll a die)

3) Read a card in your hand and ask the other player if they have that card. *If they do, you get that card and lay down the match. *If they don't, you pick from the pile.

4) First player with all their cards with matches wins
